Wallet and network

Which wallet a recipient needs, and which network the USDC arrives on

Written by Fiatswaps

Last updated July 28, 2026

Fiatswaps sends USDC on the Base network, and nothing else. The wallet you enter when you add a recipient has to be able to receive USDC on Base, and you have to be able to read its receiving address.

1. What the wallet has to do

A wallet works with Fiatswaps if it meets these conditions:

  • It supports the Base network. Fiatswaps sends USDC on Base, so the wallet has to be able to receive on Base.
  • It shows you a receiving address. The address starts with 0x and has 40 characters after it.
  • You can open it. The wallet is the only access point to the money once a swap is sent.

Any self-custody wallet that meets those points works, whether it is a browser extension or a phone app. No exchange account is needed. If the recipient has no wallet yet, the wallet step in the app links to two suggestions.

2. Find the receiving address in your wallet

The address Fiatswaps needs is the wallet's own receiving address on Base:

  1. Open the wallet and select the Base network.
  2. Choose Receive, and pick USDC if the wallet lists assets separately.
  3. Copy the address shown.

Note: The field in Fiatswaps reads Wallet address (USDC on Base) and accepts one format: 0x followed by 40 characters. If what you copied looks different, it is not the address this step wants.

3. Enter the address and check it

Paste the address on the wallet step, then verify it before moving on:

  1. Paste it into Wallet address (USDC on Base).
  2. Wait for the check. A green check means the address was validated with no scam reports; a yellow warning means the address has scam reports on record; a red error means it could not be validated.
  3. Compare the pasted address against the wallet itself, character by character.
  4. Click Continue.

Warning: USDC sent to a wrong address is lost. Fiatswaps cannot reverse a swap or recover funds sent to a mistyped or wrong address, and the check on this screen confirms the format of the address, not that it is the right one. Verify it against the wallet, and verify the wallet is on Base, before you continue.

4. What Fiatswaps sends

Every swap pays out USDC on Base, whichever currency arrived in the recipient's virtual bank account. Fiatswaps does not send a different token, does not send on a different network, and does not convert the USDC into anything else afterwards.

An address that cannot receive on Base is not usable at this step, even if it is a valid address somewhere else.

Frequently asked questions

Which network does the USDC arrive on?

Base. Fiatswaps sends USDC on the Base network for every swap, whichever currency the payment arrived in.

Can I receive USDT, or USDC on another network?

No. USDC on Base is the only asset Fiatswaps sends, and there is no option to change it.

Does the recipient need an account on a crypto exchange?

No. The wallet step needs an address that can receive USDC on Base. A self-custody wallet, as a browser extension or a phone app, is enough.

I cannot find a USDC on Base address in my wallet. Where is it?

Switch the wallet to the Base network and copy the receiving address it shows there. The field accepts an address starting with `0x` followed by 40 characters.

What does a scam warning on the address mean?

It means the address has scam reports on record. Fiatswaps still lets you continue, so check the address is the one you meant to enter before you do.

What if I entered the wrong address?

Contact support with the recipient's name before any payment arrives. USDC sent to a wrong address cannot be recovered.
